The Isle of Wight Pension Fund is part of the national Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). If you join the scheme and stay in it for at least 2 years, you will get a pension paid to you when you retire.

From April 2014 there is an option in the scheme called ‘50/50’. You can elect for this option at any time, pay half your normal contributions and build up half your normal pension.
